COSRAHK by Lol-Pretzel COSRAHK by Lol-Pretzel
Once, he went by the name of Toro. He was a prodigy, boasting a mastery over Elemental Fire manipulation that put the Ta-Nui himself to shame. Artakha saw this in him and sent him from his home island to the holy island of Korrothis, where Toro joined the Toa Korroth and became a mentor for fire toa from all over the known world. Known to meditate for weeks at a time, Toro's characteristic blue flames stemmed from his capacity to embrace the shadowed side of his element: spirit.
Toro's transformation came when Teridax took over the Great Spirit Mata Nui's body. He, like the other Toa Korroth that defied Gringat's decision to flee the Universe, stayed and attempted to destroy Metru-Nui, the seat of Teridax's consciousness. Caught off-guard, Toro was taken and fused with various rahkshi and rahi to create a leader for the invasion of Spherus Magna that was sure to follow.
After Teridax's defeat, the newly formed Cosrahk's memories flooded back. He hid in seclusion for many years, until he was approached by a group of matoran rebels seeking his aid to defeat their enemy, the corrupt and controlling Knights of Spherus Magna.

As some of you may know, this is (my adaptation of) the self MOC of Ben Cossy of MOCpages fame and fellow Broken Axles member. You can find more about this particular version, including extra shots, storyline, a rundown on the build, etc. on MOCpages!

Given the backstory, this guy would probably make a good addition to my League of Life. (My headcanon is that they escaped Karda Nui and began adding new members as they became vigilantes.) All he would need to fit in is the capacity to fly and a unique Life Ability.

A very good MOC I must say, it has a flowing color scheme which is so good, the fingers have an interesting built which goes well with the MOC and I appreciate they're custome, I love what you did with the legs and really give a beasty look, the lower arms are just perfect and you got to tell me how you attached those spinners, my only complain is the Surge mask that throws off a bit the color scheme maybe if you painted it partially black lt would have been better. But still, this is a very great MOC and let's hope we see more like him in the future from you.

Thanks for the feedback! To answer your query about the spinners, they're attached via a 3LU long blue pin attached from beneath, so the spinner can sit flush with the chassis piece.
As for the Surge mask, there's not an awful lot I can do there. It's central to the character and I'm a purist: I won't modify my pieces outside the occasional piece of tubing cut down to size.

You welcome. Thanks. I understand that and it's good that you prefer to remain true to the sorce material and keep something from the original, I would do the same, and I also don't modify my pieces exepting when I recolor them. But still, very good job. And good luck with the Broken Axles, you guys are so good especially you and Callan.

curses to my faulty vision, but I really can't figure out how those fingers are held together...

oh, and I like the MOC. Like other comments have said, the feet look very simple compared to the rest, but hey, it works.

Yeah... might change his feet at some point now I've got the pieces I want free.

Beautiful back, the shovels technique is amazing. Overall it's a stupendous moc, defin-ootely one of your best and most complicated in a while.

Love the hands, as well as everything else of course. The color distribution is perfect, and doesn't really have anything in the wrong place.

Just realized how you did the fingers ,that's clever.

Only issues are the feet, they're kinda boring and small, and the back, which is kinda cool. but doesn't work with the texture of the rest of the moc. Also, hollow armpits?

And I don't really see any rahkshi influences here except for maybe the back....?

I agree with you on the feet. They're the same as on Ben's own Cossy, but here they don't fit too well with the design. I would have liked to use Mantax's feet because of their heavy, curved look but I wasn't prepared to scrap Varrix at the time to get them.

Can't say I agree with you about the back, though. I made the back first of all and built the rest of the MOC to fit it. I think it works fine.

Also I've based his aesthetic more on rahkshi from the movies than the sets. The flared armour on his shins, claws, ability to hold a kraata in his back and the long shape of his head are all supposed to emulate that too.

Cool but a Surge head doesn't look that good on it.

Nothing I can do about that, I'm afraid. The surge helmet is the face of the character.

Super cool, but I don't like the yellow-ish green glatorian head, and the feet look too small compared to the body. But I can see that those are both from the original. Also are those Vhisorak spinners just sitting there or are they attached?

They're attached.
Also the head is simply trans-green, not yellowish green. It's one of the Brain Attack hero heads.

Are they attached by that tiny yellow piece? Or solidly. If so, how?

Is it one of those stud-pin conversion pieces? That's about the only way I think it could be attached solidly.
