Tynne:
Tynne by Lol-Pretzel

1.
As a character, Tynne started off as an NPC in a Bionicle RPG I ran on MOCpages way back when, set in the Cyclic Plane Universe. She's a matoran of lightning who was just a waitress at a tiny little inn on the Isle of Thorns, but she ended up being pretty important.

2. Tynne was crushed under a collapsing bridge as a matoran and never really managed to heal. Her nervous system was damaged and it became difficult to use her legs. While over a long time she learned to grin and bear it, nobody she knew could fix it (and by this time Karzahni had been all but forgotten).

3. Undergoing a long and painful journey to Korrothis, Tynne found that the holy island of legends was gone! In its place was just this thorny sandbank of an island. With nowhere else to go, she settled down in the little town that was growing on the island and waited with the other matoran, hoping Korrothis would return.

4. Despite being in constant pain and having a pretty sparse existence on the Isle of Thorns, Tynne was one of those matoran who'd always go out of their way to help other people through their troubles, even if they were relatively minor in comparison. She didn't like paying attention to her own limitations and often ended up crashing after ignoring it for too long.

5. When her home was threatened by Ja'kat raiders from the Shadowcaverns below the Matoran Universe, Tynne actually helped take up the fight against them. When Toa Puhana died down there, she transferred her Toa Energy to Tynne, who transformed into a toa, herself. That sacrifice let her move freely once again and use her mask of Sensory Aptitude to guide a group of matoran back to the surface through a massive warren of tunnels and traps in enemy territory.

6. Tynne and Gringat had an interesting relationship for a long time, but it didn't go anywhere quickly because both of them were bound by their Duty on different(ish) islands. For Tynne, this was defending the Isle of Thorns and all those matoran who arrived there waiting for Korrothis to return again. She took this duty very seriously, even turning down a chance at becoming an archon (elite toa) of Korrothis.

7. Much, much later, when Spherus Magna reformed and all that lovely stuff, Tynne and Gringat found that life had brought them together after all. They had two children, Elithra and Nilmador. She also traveled with Gringat on a colonisation/exploration mission to a newly rediscovered Great Being world known as Atmos Magna, but it's unknown what happened to her since.

8. As a character she's kinda based off a D&D character of mine called Kythalea, who was a paladin with similar vows to guard a small island settlement and a similar sort of colour scheme with her armour and all. Tynne uses the violet colour from the 2002 Technic Jango Fett set as a secondary. She's also the first MOC I ever made a Bricklink order to complete.

MATRIARCH
...iiiiiis not really a very fleshed out character. :v
will work on this later

Gringat too

Tolus:
Lord Tolus by Lol-Pretzel
1. Tolus is a member of Ehlek's species.

2. He's travelled across much of the Matoran Universe, first as part of Ehlek's army during the age of the League of Six Kingdoms, then later as a member of the Elemental Council of Korrothis.

3. Tolus is the longest-serving elemental lord in history. The first lords of Light and Shadow, Balin and Nivorn, came close but were killed by Teridax after he took over the Matoran Universe.

4. He has a soft spot for rahi and his sunken palace is filled with creatures from all over the Matoran Universe and Aqua Magna that he has rescued and then kept as pets.

5. Tolus was attacked by Amphibax after he deserted Ehlek's army. He never truly healed, and always had an unnerving, watery cough since.

6. Tolus lived in the Great Temple in Ga-Metru for a while, and worked as an acolyte, but he wasn't very much trusted by the matoran because of his species and his history in Ehlek's army. The League weren't kind to matoran.

7. Tolus was possibly the most powerful being in the entire Matoran Universe, largely because his power did not all come from the Matoran Universe. He had a connection to the entire ocean of Aqua Magna, and could call upon its power if he wanted. Since his duty was to the Matoran Universe and the beings within it though, he never truly tapped this power until the Great Cataclysm, when the two were exposed to each other. He prevented the Southern Continent from flooding by sheer willpower until others were able to put dams and seals in place.

8. As far as the Cyclic Plane goes, Tolus is one of my absolute favourite characters. Moreso than Gringat, even.

Gringat is tired now. Go bother somebody else. :iconmaiqtheliarplz:

Tagged by this nasty piece of work :icon0nuku: who wanted to know about Brolas, the Toa of Copper from my Cyclic Plane fan storyline.

RULES:
1. Post 8 facts about your character.

Brolas, Toa of Copper by Lol-Pretzel

1. Brolas was one of my first characters and MOCs I posted online, less than a year after I'd first started doing it (for reference I'm now nearing my 8th year in this community). The first version was based off Onewa Metru's torso and looked like THIS.

2. When it came to the second version, I tried to include as much sand green as I could, only to find that was way too much! So it was the first time I found when MOCing that just because I could do something with the design (and show off), didn't mean I should, for the sake of the aesthetic.

3. Brolas is one of a handful of characters in my storyline who left the Matoran Universe under their own power before the reformation of Spherus Magna. In Brolas' case he went to find Mata-Nui after Teridax's takeover, in a shuttle created by Artakha, and then quested across Spherus Magna until he found him.

4. Brolas is the closest my storyline comes to for a "holy warrior" type. Brolas is a dutiful warrior beholden to the Three Virtues and the way of the Hexarc, respects nature and serves to preserve life, order and goodness in all he does. Even when his powers were stripped away by Teridax, he remained faithful to Mata Nui. Also throw in a few parallels to saints, Greek heroes and Arthurian knights, questing for the holy grail. Brolas is one of those rare individuals who are fuelled by faith.

5. Brolas came from the island of Artakha, trained on Korrothis and then remained there as an Archon. Archons work for different members of the elemental council, perform various acts to help maintain the balance of elements in the Matoran Universe, and teach new toa the Toa Code and help train their powers.

6. Brolas' weapon contains an Avohkah, another servant of Mata-Nui bound to the weapon by Artakha. It is sentient and able to discharge electricity in devastating attacks. It also serves to protect Brolas and won't allow another being to wield it.

7. Brolas got his powers over elemental copper after the Onu Nui, Reglas, imbued him with power from a mysterious Great Being artefact under Korrothis known as the Soulforge. The Soulforge is able to manipulate the basic building blocks of matter and is somehow linked to the balance of elements as a whole.

8. Brolas is one of the few toa known able to balance the powers of three kanohi at once, though his three Pakari are simpler to concentrate on than three different masks. Combined he can summon enough strength to lift entire buildings - and has, more than once!

Tagged by Monarth :V
'tis an interesting tag game. I like it. Monarth pulled a strange card for me though. I haven't done much with Mezzinus in years...

RULES:
1. Post 8 facts about your character.
2. Tag 8 other Characters.
3. Post their names along with their creator's avatars

1. Mezzinus was born Mezzin Kaleon. The 'us' at the end of his name is an honorific he earned after fighting in the fourth Hynak war, defending a strategic coastal base from an attack single-handedly except for the turret defenses he built himself.

2. Mezzinus' twin sister is Harren. Twins are extremely rare among his species (the Children of Ako) due to the stresses a couple go through when creating offspring. Rather than going through pregnancy, a couple merge into a living factory called a Ki'ata which consciously creates new beings from its own tissues using nanomachines and protodermis.

3. Mezzinus' elemental powers are partly hereditary, but heavily enhanced artificially. He and Harren went through The Process together and their enhancements were designed to compliment each other as firefighters. Instead of fighting fires, they were drafted into a war.

4. Mezzinus' metabolism is hyperactive thanks to his augmentations. He has some measure of control over this, but any pyrotechnics require vast amounts of energy from his body.

5. He has a sonic screwdriver.

6. Mezzinus and Tezra had a fling at one point, but it didn't work out.

7. Like all Children of Ako, Mezzinus' skin is clear and has veins of light running under it. Unlike most Akonians, who absorb infra-red radiation, Mezzinus emits it. This tends to make him popular around other Akonians.

8. In the Cyclic Plane AU, Mezzinus played a part in the Hynak Rebellion and eventually went on to join the others in stopping the Great Being Ezru from taking over e'Lekaia. In the Champions AU, he was killed by Arrukhan the Black before ever getting that far.

THE FACTS OF GRINGAT:

1. I struggle with depression. I've only recently started getting my act together and talking to people that'll hopefully teach me some mental tricks to kick it in the butt. Right now the main issue is noticing it's happening while it's happening, rather than in hindsight.

2. Showers are efficient and bubble baths are a needless frivolity.

3. My first ever set was Tahu Mata. My latest set was the 3 in 1 Emerald train which I am currently trying to turn into a mixel. I got it for free after buying some books, and free Lego is always nice :D

4. Last Saturday, I went out to Spurn Point, which is an amazing natural landmark right at the edge of the largest river mouth in Britain - the Humber Estuary. There was a bit of hail and high winds, but the sights there were breathtaking. The land moves around on a 250 year cycle and pretty much anything built there gets consumed by the shifting sands and water, including a fort and artillery placement that was built here in World War Two which is being ground up and eaten by Spurn. The road was destroyed by the sea a couple of years ago so I rode around with the guys of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in a freaking Unimog.

5. I still play Neverwinter Nights even though it came out in 2002. The online community is still going strong! I also play Pathfinder with the Wargaming and Role Play Society (WARPS) at my university in a couple of games. One's a more standard fantasy one on Roll20 (barring the fact the party is working for the demon lord of Madness), and the other is a crazy Stargate-inspired storyline with a fully chaotic-aligned party.

6. I'm currently working on my dissertation. It's a study of suppressor mutations in filamentous fungi - we think we've found a type of mutation nobody's documented before. If so this could be a really big deal. Or not. Science!

7. I'm a fan of Markiplier.

8. I HAVE NEARLY 250 OCS. At least 3/4 of these are from the Cyclic Plane Storyline

9. I'm a pastor's son - my dad is a rector for the Church of England. I'm a practicing Christian myself and have been singing in choirs since I was 10. I really want to sing more, but while I'm at university I have other things to worry about :/

10. I may already have gone through all the spending money I had for this year. :T Thankfully Hull is one of the cheapest cities in England to live in and there's a Lidl closeby. I just can't buy more bonkles. :(

THE QUESTIONS OF THE FENREK

1.What was the happiest moment of your life?
Layin' it a little thick there, no? It's hard to say. This is a very strange age to be a human. I find I'm relearning all the definitions of things I used to think I knew, happiness among them. I'm still pretty sure it was on my first trip to Taize when I was 15. I made a lot of friends very quickly and we were there in the south of France in midsummer with over 5,000 pilgrims of all different denominations from different countries from all over the world. The music in Taize is world famous and amazing and you guys should check it out. One night, I stayed singing until the very end. I lost my voice the day after, but it was worth it.

2. If you had superpowers, would you use them for good or evil?
Knowing me, first I'd freak out about it and then try and find someone in the academic community to help study it... I'd refuse to be someone's guinea pig though. Perhaps I'd try to help people as well, but I wouldn't do so without having a good idea of what's really going on with me first. Also it depends what they actually let me do.

3. Your current hobby, whether it's MOCing, toys, art (like painting/photoshop) or anything. What is it and when did the passion for it start?
According to my parents, my passion for MOCing began after my younger brother was born. When he came home (he was a very early birth and had to stay in the hospital for a long time) I would build towers of bricks, which he would then knock over, and I'd build them up again. Apparently we both enjoyed this, though nowadays I think if he broke one of my MOCs I'd have to break some bones. :I Anyway, we kept playing together and that had a lot to do with fostering my imagination, I think. Later on I started realising colour schemes were a thing, and in 2008 I uploaded my first MOC to MOCpages. The feedback I got from there was great and eventually I got to where I am now... or was in 2012 at least. University has put a damper on things somewhat, though I still have sets and fiddle with a very limited supply of parts here at my friend Adam's house nearby.
I have a sneaking suspicion Bionicle is one of the main factors that led me to studying biology (especially biomechanics) in the first place.

Another hobby of mine is music. I love singing it, playing it (trumpeter here!) and composing it.. I actually got nearly full marks composing music at A-Level. Alas, again, university is putting a stop to that. That and any halfway decent music software requires time and money I don't have. When I finally have time, I aim to write a setting for evensong in D minor at 6/8 time.

4. Which would you choose over having wings to fly or having gills and fins for swimming and underwater breathing?
The gills and fins, definitely. Though I'm not so sure what good the fins would be, especially if they got in the way of wearing normal clothing. Being able to breathe underwater would be amazing. I'm an amateur scuba diver and have been down to 25M before. It was magical... being able to dive without risk of getting the bends, having a strict dive time, or the costly scuba gear, would be the best thing ever. Sure flying might be more useful for getting from A to B, but being able to dive down would unlock places most people can't ever see.

5. Out of your current gallery, which MOC is your favourite and why?
Lianyu. This MOC was in essence a fan letter to :icongoldenarpeggio: because I love his MOCs and whimsical style so much! The MOC itself doesn't have a build that's worth writing home about, but the unique colour scheme, coming up with his head design and incorporating all those wacky and wierd parts was fun. I built him at a very low time in my life and I'm sure that project helped me through it.

6. Bacon?
    Always. With brown sauce! :o

7. What's your idea of a perfect day?
A couple of years ago I'd have answered "a day to myself", but I've come to realise that never does me any good. A perfect day is when I learn something new, see something I haven't seen before, and realise there's more to reality than the little model ticking away in my head.

8. Mata-Nui or Metru-Nui?
Metru-Nui was my favourite setting. At least until Mahri Nui became a thing. Being there at the time, I really liked the change to the big city. It was all so big and new and wierd and alien. I never liked the fact that Mata-Nui was the whole world they had. It felt like another Drome. And if you know what I'm talking about you can have a bagel.

9. Have you ever met another MOCist and if so, what were they like? If not having met another MOCist, who would you choose and why?
I haven't met any other MOCists in person. I don't know of any others in the North of England. The closest to me is probably :iconbiorockdude: since I can get the ferry over to Rotterdam from here in Hull and from there it may not be too far. I have talked to several people in the community over Skype though.
If I could choose, I'd probably want to meet either Yuri Fassio or :iconrahiden: because they're both amazing and crazy folks who I've known for years but never really spoken to. Rahiden is at least in the same country as me though so meeting him might be achievable.

10. Autobot or Decepticon?
I always liked the conflict between those two, but I wouldn't want to join with either of them even if I was a 20 tonne transforming robot monster. A war of extremes has horrible things happen on both sides.

QUESTIONS OF THE ME!

1. Who are your favourite artists here on DA?

2. Who are your favourite music artists?
